Hey everyone,

well to start off, I'm proud of everyone from the NLB cast and crew to the SYF cast and crew.

Everyone has been working so hard for the past few months and its finally paid off, and for SYF-ers, time to show everyone why we've been cooped up in the bloody auditorium for so many hours!!!! Yeah!!!

Whatever results we get, I'm proud of you guys cause of all the effort you put into this play, don't blame anyone cause we're a team, and we love each otehr as mucha s we love the play don't we? ... RIGHT?! :D

Anyway, I'm sure it was a great experience... To learn, to build and find yourself, remember this and pass it on to the next batch, gotta lead drama to greater heights :)

Finally, thank you Natalie, Sharon, Fanny, Firhad, Mrs. Lim, cast and crew members for making it a wonderful experience :) And God for giving us these wonderful people :)

hey guys, i guess all of you don't hear from me much.
Just bored now and want to say something.
Now, is the crucial part. The SYF competition is around the corner! Hope most of you are excited to go to the competition too!
I know, on Thursday, when she ( i forgotten the lady's name ) said about you guys doing badly or what so ever, I was also thinking it through. Though i just joined in the team not long, i can see that you people are trying very very very hard to get into focus and such. I know that most of you are shouting at that particular person. I shan't say out who is it. You people are a team man! a team! when ever someone did something wrong, line wrong, blockings wrong, all of you are suppose to help each other. time is running out and all of you should try and correct each other's faults during each and every rehearsal. Make use of every opportunity to help each other. Including outside auditorium, or even off stage.

lastly, hope you guys will get your lines down ASAP! don't let the teachers or Natalie down again. alright guys? :] all the best~

Hey guys! i think this is about the first time impostinsomething worth reading. the reason why im writing this right now is because i wanted to talk to yall formally as a whole cca, but didn't get to opportunity to on friday when i went to help out at the drama booth (omg, that's a looong sentence!). i understand yall got alot on your hands right now, what with the preparing for SYF (or the absence of a production to prepare for if you didnt get in :( ) but i think its important that yall still remember something;

theatre is never a competition. its when a whole group of people from totally different walks of life share the same passion of conveying a story, a message, together. theatre is all about support. without it, everything falls apart. what if one day, a crew doesn't show up and is the only one holding the key to the costume wardrobe? every piece is absolutely essential, isint it? right now, times are gonna get extremely tough, what with the lack of help from high up (though the one higher up, the Almighty, is still always lookin down on us;) ) if you get what i mean. i know there isint much of a committee right now, but what you do have is a ring of leaders. hey, if you do well with one, why not have a bunch of them eh? all im asking is that you guys stick together like glue. like, contact glue (which i got stuck in my hair once, and it was real nasty!)

i understand that everyone wants to join SYF this year and be able to make the CCA proud, and let me tell you, it makes me proud to hear. it makes me so happy. but then, understand that natalie is a professional. remember 2 years ago, when i lost my voice (due to an awesome gig by MUSEealrlier in the week) and i wasnt even given the chance to try out for the leading female role of Juliet? of course i felt horrible. you wont believe how even worse i sounded when i was crying and all that at home. but then when i saw jaime acting, i understood that i was never built for the role. im not ready. i accepted it (though i put up quite a fight at first!). so im askin you now to let go of any past grudges, go past all that. you guys gotta stay united and look out for each other.

if someone needs help, go help. don't just disappear, cos i know that's what some of you might do. sure threes no teacher around to scold you and stuff. but you're a teen now, you're a young adult. take control of your life, yea?

what i saw last friday at the booth was utmost dedication to the cca shown by all of you there. you guys were awesome. when i came, i gave a sigh of relief when i saw yall dressed up, eventhough that was prolly the most dreaded drama tradition! yall were truly awesome. im sorry there was no food prepared for you, but you guys weren't even becoming irritated cos of the lack of nutrition! here;s what i say; the next time something of this scale happens, if you need help from the teachers, you gotta write it down and pester mrfirhad till he gets it in his head, yea? since theres no more committee , so called, everyone chips in to help. every piece is essential. you guys gotta take control.

im so proud of you guys, and i am totally free this january, so if yall need any extra help at all, im just a call away. holla at me babes! here'sto wishing you the best SYF yet. cheers!

Location: Queenstown CC
Time: 8am
Details: Contact any of the seniors to book a ticket, you need to get your name written down, this is only limited to 20 members though.

7th November
Event: Flair - Masked Performance
Location: National Museum
Time: 8pm
Details: A MUST WATCH FOR SYF PARTICIPANTS NEXT YEAR . The theme of the play will be on mask as well which will be an integeral part of out SYF play next year, please tell a senior and pay $!2 as soon as you can. 20 tickets for sale

Also! There are drama sessions continuing to about 2 weeks from now, with 4-hour slots on Thursdays, at 3.45pm at the PA2. Come if you can, no really, just come.

Really sorry for the lack of updates, well, right now Drama is at a pause, it's exam time! So study hard! Good luck for Sec 4s and 5s taking Os and Ns!

There'll be more updates when Drama recumes, also! Theres a possibility for a Drama Chalet with a second farewell since the last one was stopped short.

On a side note, anyone got drama pictures? If you do please send to me for next year's yearbook, thanks.

Hey Guys! I know I should have posted something worth reading about a long time ago, so here it is! HEHEHEHHAHAHAHAAA

It's so heartbreaking for me to finally leave this CCA which I love so much (ooh mood change all of a sudden). I can't thank you guys enough for throwing such a wonderfull farewell. The turn-up was what filled my heart with pride the most. It's so uplifting to find out that, eventhough I have thrown tantrums at you guys from before, you guys still put in so much effort to make the whole event happen. You're gifts were oh-so-cute! The games was real funny (also cos you got me &fel to run around the whole school barefooted! haha).

I want to apologise and ask you guys for you're forgiveness for anything I may have said wrongly for the past 2years. If i had pulled a heartstring or messed with you're confidence, I'm sorry. Know that i never wanted

My beloved Fairfield Drama,
[I always believed our official name to be Fairfield Drama.
Haha I think I saw it in the school diary.]

I'm Potato, and I wish you all will stick with my name as Potato, or Samuel.
I'm from the batch of 2007 and I'm at ACJC now taking drama as a subject and cca.

I'm going to nag for the sake of the juniors, as in Drama it's important to always know your roots.
you see, by now you should have realised we are a small cca that is known for our strong bonds that has brought us to great heights. (just look at some other good ccas, they are not as closely knitted as us. probably because they don't have the special lack of discipline that lets them even socialise backstage). haha.

The juniors and juniors to come must all know our story. PRINT IT OUT AND PASTE IT IN THE PA2 IF YOU HAVE TO.

This is the story of Fairfield Drama in my own words, and thus also includes most of my own experience. I've decided to post them in parts of 4, all 4 representing the 4 years I was here (I came in in 2004 when Drama started). The 5th post? Let's see who does it. Haha.

A Bright New World: The Fairfield Drama Story Part 1
That was a corny title.

The Fairfield Drama started off as an individual CCA in November 2003.

CCA Orientation 2004
This was to recruit the first Sec 1 batch of Fairfield Drama. The members wore elaborate past costumes and set up one of the best booths in CCA Orientation 2004 (it is a tradition for Drama to always have the most glamourous and outstanding booth and booth-menders.) At this time most of my batch's drama members signed up on the list except me. I was stranded in the school, in a dilemna as to which CCA to join. I was about to join the BB when suddenly, this lady in a black dress came over. She talked to me about Fairfield Drama. I HAD NO INTENTION TO JOIN DRAMA. Until she took 10 minutes to explain to me everything and I was so touched. A humble member of Fairfield Drama, so proud of her CCA and telling me their story. This is a CCA I should join.
The CCA orientation ended and I rushed to Mr Pang's room, sneaked in and added my name on the list while everyone was packing up.
I remember the lady was Clara Han, 4B'04.
And the last boy on the list was Samuel Lam.

Cross Country 2004 (Febuary)
Our Drama girls and boys won individual and team and cheerleading events. My vague memories are of Zi Yang winning an event, and our club performing an awesome cheerleading dance. The pompoms are in the drama store still.

EXCO 2004
Zi Yang was the president in 2004. He was the only exco member and he was a great leader, the perfect one to boost Drama on the start of her journey.
Wait, decide now. Drama is a female noun, is that okay with everyone?
Zi Yang is LEGENDARY; so influential that members up to the batch of 2009 know and respect him. Up till today he still helps Drama. The juniors will know him soon once he finishes his last year (i think). But he'll have a shaved head when he comes back.

TRAINING 2004
Training was done by this Yoga instructor we called Babafu, because of the song he taught us as a focus exercise or something.
Ba ba fu loo loo... so on.
It was the first session where I sort of fractured my tail bone. Haven't had an X-ray till now. Haha.
He was good.
Then came Les Thespians. Gerrard Fang, known as G, and Renee Chua. G is a light designer and his artistic direction is AWESOME. Renee is awesome too and she was the vocal coach back then.

THE PERFORMANCE AT YOUTH PARK
There was a minor performance by our club at the Youth Park. Some festival was happening and other drama clubs were participating.
We performed a parody, with Eugenia as William Hung, and the sec 1s were at the back of the stage acting as William Hung fans.
All I remember was Eugenia being a really good William Hung imposter and us Sec 1s just being gay and screaming William Hung!

THE SILLY LITTLE GIRL AND THE FUNNY OLD TREE
The first blackbox production by a secondary school in an ad-hoc location.
That was the definition of our play that I can never forget.
Produced my Mr. Pang and Ms. Hia, directed by Gerrard Fang and Renee Chua, performed in the foyer in July 2004.
The foyer back then was like a dirty grey void deck.
There were black curtains surrounding it, and there were no railings back then.
There was the tree controlled by Nathaniel, otherwise known as the Brickman since he used a brick to clamp the string.
The tree itself was Diana, Kevin, Zi Yang, Spencer, and I can't remember the rest. Joavan? Gloria? Sherlyn?
Joyce and Yarong were the silly little girl(s).
My part of the story started here. Yao Wei was the OHP boy, operating the OHP images, but sometime halfway he just passed the job to me because he said he was busy or something. So I took the job, it was a hard job and it was here I gained trust (or fairly, FAVOUR) and this brought me where I am. That explains why I'm always so greatful to Yao Wei.
Ryann was the Stage Manager (and the only one who could sleep during the performance while Joanne the ASM was running round the blackbox going crazy).
Samuel Koh, whom I will later succeed, was the Lights operator.
Honestly I cannot remember anything else.
Oh, and going to Dover to pluck yellow leaves with Julien and the others.
The first and best performance of the Fairfield Drama... Indeed a good start.

Sunday - update after camp and farewell, Marc's letter

Time to update the drama blog! Sorry for the late update, I didn't have access to the computer =/ Well in this past week we've finished the camp as well as the farewell, however there may be another farewell, as the seniors have yet to speak to us and give us their testimonials, and we, them ...

But from Jacob's post I guessed most of the seniors still liked it, thanks to the whole of drama! Want me to list out all the names? then when you ctrl + S you can find you name!

Thanks to Timothy, Cherisse, Gordon, Hilary, Jeremiah and Amanda for the valentine setting, it was really nice!

Thanks to Jean, Marie, Indah, Cleon, Joey, Li Zhen, Alexander and for the fun easter games and the cool decorations, guess the black box helped with the theme a bit as well haha, thank you PA 2!

Thanks to Charmaine, Delia, Kai Yong, Elissa, Nadelyn and Wei Rong for the food, it was amazing! Really good to eat haha, and you made enough / too much XD

Thanks to my group consisting of Haris, Venessa (stop spamming!), Jie Feng and Janice for helping me come up with ideas for the gifts =D

And thanks to the teachers for the booking of the PA2 and the cleaner for clearing us out and the room up =X I didn't say anything.

The camp was succesful in a few ways, but you all know where you're lacking so please practice at home, now the competition is only a few weeks away, don't waste your time, practice when you can't sleep, when you're bathing, when you're stoning, just run through the lines, your actions, and your emotions, build your chracter up... Do this before it's too late

We plan to enforce the ground rules more in the coming drama sessions (on responsibility and respect) We will be taking action on those who come late. Also, the police competition is officially cancelled. It was held yesterday.

Well, Marc wants to say something to all at drama, here goes:

To my dearest Drama Club of FMSS.

I have already left the school late last year; a great disappointment to some but yet a victory to the few who despised of my existence within the student body.

My name is Marc Ashley, otherwise known to many as the boy who left every time he earned a major role in every play he auditioned for(yes that sentence was the usual egomaniacal side of me). In my time in Fairfield, I was guilty of many convictions against me in the discipline region; yes I am arguably the most notorious in my batch, with a case file as thick as entire encyclopedia tenfold. Many times have I been visited by the police and have paid visits to the local prison. My passion in life is drama, I love the art, apart from metal, of which also a music scene I devote myself to. And drama, in every form has given me a sense of homage.

But during my turbulent years as a sigil of rebellion within the school, the only thing that kept me sane and a warming sense of comfort was to be with the peers of the drama club.

Sure, I hardly came during my first 2 years there, but in my third and final year, I made a decision to myself that I love the club, that it was there where I found existence in. It became more than faith and self-control for me to go to it, but damn, I loved the idea that I always had a prominent role in the play(s).

Every chance I had to show what an actor I am came to an immaculate halt because of my records; I hated myself, I hated the school, I became depressed and played with razors. Gradually, and suddenly, that’s what depression for me was. After I was booted out of the S.Y.F 2007, I was afraid to face my peers, I cried so much, I used to wake up every morning detesting the fact I’m still living.
But given this short time, I want to thank the past, present and future members for what this club stands for, the love for each dramatist regardless of where they came from, what they did or where they will go to, but most of all, for the upheaval of drama.

The farewell was meant to end in tears, but tears only bring back the past don’t they? But tears will never relive the past.

Think about it, an odium such as me, would be tethering at the mercy of depression, in fear I will not be welcomed, but you guys, those who are leaving, those who left, those who just came or are to come, those who are still around, the teachers, instilled such a faith in me that I can only act ignorant to, but deep inside this bigoted ingrate you know as Marc Ashley, is the only child who craved attention and acceptance. You guys cured that craving and in an instant, made it an addiction.

Right now, I am in tears, yes, yes, I do get very emotional and cut myself (do not follow this idiotic example, I WARN YOU!) but I’ve never thought as myself as an emo (cause I can never stand the music! or the hair…hee!) but these tears are for the regrets I’ve made through my act of my own pleasure; my mistakes.

To those who do not know me, I’m Marc Ashley, your supposed senior.

Goodbye my beloved club, thank you so much for the exhausting games at the farewell and the dinner we had on the floor and the cleanup forced by the aunty, cheers to one and all and stay off the lines of discipline, trust me, it’s not worth it. I had to test it myself until I ended this way,

This is the DRAMA CAMP WEEK! I hope you guys are excited hahaha! Well, drama camp's going to just be extensive drilling but we get to eat lunch after lol... Starts at 10 tomorrow, but for wed and thurs it's not confirmed, we can go home when our act is good so work hard!

Okay maybe I'll do weekly updates on Saturdays, first! The confirmed competitions we are in and performances we have to act in are as follows:

History Competition - Lower Secondary level

August Performance - Various people from all sec 1,2 and 3 levels.

The police one we aren't sure of yet.

It's the holidays but don't play too much, I hope everyone has recieved the Drama Holiday sechdule? Anyone who hasn't please sms me and I'll send it via email.

19th of June is Natalie's performance. 15 tickets have been booked, it's from 8-10pm, and the price is $15, down from $25.

There is a drama practice for everyone on 28th May, this coming Monday, look for me for scripts and the drama sechdule if you haven't gotten it

Along the course of the week I'll be updating the level pages accordingly.

Brief overview - April onwards

I'm sure you'll know by now that the performance is on 18th April, next Friday, if you didn't know, etch it into your brains NOW

The Singapore Secret
18th April, Friday
At the Auditorium
House Opens at 6.45 so make sure to be ready before that time!
Performance is from 7-7.45pm so eat your lunch.
Give us a good show, practice in this week before!

Yup. The tickets have been more or less finalised, music, costumes and lights will be aimed to be completed tomorrow or the following Monday, if we cannot do enough, be prepared for a Friday session.

I really like the colour, you know it was red and black at first? But it was too dark and some people found it boring --"
